We wanted to escape the hustle of the busy Burmese streets of Yangon and its many tourist traps. Thus, we went to Uncharted Horizon Myanmar where we ended up booking a half-day 30 km bicycling tour with two fantastic guides through and around Dala to explore the more authentic and rural places of Myanmar. The trip cost us around 44.000 kyats and is a visit worthwhile.

Dala, a small fishing village close to Yangon, is a perfect spot for a day trip from Yangon – either on your own or with a tour guide and group. If you want to get a taste of rural Myanmar, a journey to Dala is an option. To get to this village, you can take the 10-minute ferry from Pansodan Pier in downtown Yangon. As we went with a tour guide, everything was sorted out for us. However, there are stories of severe scams in and around Dala. Please, as always, be cautious when wandering around on your own.
